According to Variety, Jake in Progress exec producer Bob Kushell is teaming up with standup Michael Loftus for a half-hour comedy set up at Fox.
NBC U Television Studio is producing the laffer, which has been given a script commitment by Fox. Loftus -- now a writer on ABC's George Lopez -- is being eyed to star.
Kushell and Loftus will write and exec produce, with Levity Entertainment Group's Judi Brown-Marmel and Robert Hartmann also on board as exec producers.
The untitled laffer is a domestic sitcom about a married couple dealing with everything from religion and politics to therapy and addictions in an unconventional way. Fox is expected to make a decision on whether the project will move forward within the next six weeks.
