It was just announced yesterday, but the CW is wasting no time in getting their new remake off the ground. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Rady (Swingtown) has signed on as the first cast member of the CW Network's Melrose Place reboot.

Rady will play Jonah Miller, a 25-year-old aspiring filmmaker who makes ends meet making videos for weddings and bar mitzvah's for the LA elite until he catches his big break. The role harkens back to Andrew Shue's Billy character in the original series, a struggling writer.

The reboot was written by Smallville executive producers/showrunners Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer and the pilot will be directed by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth).

No production schedule was released.
