Man of Steel star Michael Shannon has been making the press rounds for the U.K. release of Take Shelter. The actor confirmed a fight scene between his character, General Zod, and Russell Crowe's Jor-El, which we reported on last week.

"We do have a fight sequence in the film. We worked on it for a long time, we rehearsed it for a long time, then you shoot it and it's done. It's kind of strange to put all this work into something that's going to be maybe a minute long [on film]."

The actor also spoke about working with the new Superman Henry Cavill, even though he's only had one scene with the actor so far.

"I've shot exactly one scene with Henry so far. We have a lot together, we just haven't shot it yet, He seems very appropriate for the part, he's a big fella and he's very handsome and charming, so it's certainly understandable why they cast him. But I'll always have a soft spot for Christopher Reeve."

Michael Shannon also revealed his General Zod might not make anyone kneel before him, and suggested a hilarious alternative.

"It's not a sure thing that there will be any kneeling in the film. It's not a dead issue, but it's not a certainty. Maybe I'll make people stand on their tippy-toes. 'Stand on your tippy-toes before Zod!'"
