Michelle Williams is in talks to star in the period drama Suite Francaisse for filmmaker Saul Dibb (The Duchess).

If a deal is finalized the Oscar-nominated actress will portray Lucille Angellier, a young woman in Nazi-occupied France who falls for a young German soldier while her husband is off fighting the war. Her only escape is playing the piano, which piques the interest of the soldier who was a composer before the war.

Saul Dibb will direct from his own screenplay, with David Parfitt and Mark Cooper producing. They also produced My Week with Marilyn starring Michelle Williams, who earned her third Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe.

Prodcution is scheduled to begin next spring in London.
