Minions Mania is sweeping the nation, following the Super Bowl trailer from last week and the new photos of villain Scarlet Overkill released yesterday. Today, Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have released the second full trailer for this Despicable Me spin-off, which shows the Minions Kevin, Stuart and Bob trying to hitch a ride to Orlando for Villain-Con, back in 1968, or 42 Years B.G. (Before Gru). It is there that they meet the villainous Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock).

The story of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's Minions begins at the dawn of time. Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. After accidentally killing off so many of them-from T. rex to Napoleon-the Minions find themselves without a master to serve and fall into a deep depression. Featuring a soundtrack of hit music from the '60s that still permeates our culture today, Minions is produced by Illumination's Christopher Meledandri and Janet Healy, and is directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda. Brian Lynch has written the screenplay for the 3D-CG comedy adventure, and Chris Renaud serves as executive producer of the film.

If the new trailer wasn't enough, we also have a new poster, featuring the Minions literally standing in the shadow of Scarlet Overkill. The supporting voice cast is rounded out by Steve Carell, Jon Hamm and Hiroyuki Sanada in this animated comedy, arriving in theaters July 10.
