Back in March, 20th Century Fox released the first trailer for their upcoming adaptation Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, based on the beloved book by Ransom Riggs. We haven't seen anything else from this adaptation since then, but today we have eight new posters, which give us a closer look at the main characters. With the movie set for release on September 30, the second trailer is hopefully just around the corner.

These posters debuted on Twitter, featuring Eva Green as Miss Peregrine, Asa Butterfield as Jake, Ella Purnell as Emma, Cameron King as Millard, Lauren McCrostie as Olive, The Odwell Brothers as The Peculiar Twins, Pixie Davies as Bronwyn and Samuel L. Jackson as Barron. We'll have to wait and see if posters are released for the rest of the cast members, including Allison Janney, Finlay MacMillan, Justin Davies, O-Lan Jones and Cameron Greco. It's possible that this adaptation will be part of 20th Century Fox's Comic Con presentation, but we'll have to wait and see.

From visionary director Tim Burton, Jake uncovers a secret refuge. As he learns about the residents and their unusual abilities, Jake realizes that safety is an illusion, and danger lurks in the form of powerful, hidden enemies. Jake must figure out who is real, who can be trusted, and who he really is.

Asa Butterfield stars as the 16-year-old Jake, a teen plagued by nightmares following a family tragedy. Taking the advice of his therapist, he sets off on an overseas journey to visit the abandoned orphanage where his late grandfather claims to have stayed as a young child. The place not only turns out to be real, but it is also a gateway to an alternate realm where kids with strange powers are attended too by a magical nanny named Miss Peregrine (Eva Green).

Written by Ransom Riggs in 2011, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children was inspired by a collection of vintage photographs that the author found at various flea markets. This adaptation will be going up against Lionsgate's Deepwater Horizon, Relativity's Masterminds and STX Entertainment's The Edge of Seventeen when it hits theaters on September 30. Take a look at these character posters below, and stay tuned for more footage from Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.
