Atlas Independent has inked a deal with director William Monahan to write and direct the crime thriller, Mojave.

Plot details for the project are being held under wraps. Will Green, Andy Horwitz, Alan Glazer and Justine Suzanne Jones are producing.

Here's what director William Monahan had to say about the project's future:

"Working with Chuck Roven and Atlas is perfection from my point of view, and has already led to a brilliant ongoing relationship. It's the strongest possible company and they're specifically in the business of protecting quality work. Atlas and I have decided to do a lot of work together and here we go."

Production is expected to begin in Southern California this summer.
