Following its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year, A24 Films is getting ready to bring Mojave to theaters nationwide, and to DirecTV subscribers as well. Entertainment Tonight has debuted the first trailer for Mojave, which debuts tomorrow, December 3 on DirecTV, before arriving in theaters January 6, 2016. This thriller is the latest in A24's partnership with DirecTV, where they have debuted movies such as Slow West early on the subscription service before arriving in theaters.

Mojave is a classical, cerebral thriller about a brilliant, near-suicidal artist, Thomas (Garrett Hedlund), who attempts to escape his privileged existence into the desert only to encounter a homicidal, chameleon-like drifter-Jack (Oscar Isaac). Their first encounter at a campfire sets up a nonstop, violent duel of physical and intellectual equals. The game intensifies when Jack, while in murderous pursuit of Thomas, witnesses Thomas' accidental killing of an innocent man he has mistaken for Jack.

The chase moves from the spectacular vistas of the American desert to a noir Los Angeles, where Jack discovers Thomas' notoriety as an artist and continues to remake his own identity in relentless pursuit of his victim, culminating in a vortex of criminality and brutality as Thomas emerges as an equally dangerous opponent. The supporting cast includes Walton Goggins, Dania Ramirez, Fran Kranz, Louise Bourgoin, Maria Olsen, Kara C. Roberts and Anna Margaret Hollyman. The project was picked up by A24, shortly after its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival.

William Monahan directs from his own screenplay, with Aaron L. Ginsburg and William Green producing. This project marks the second directing gig for William Monahan, following his 2011 directorial debut, London Boulevard. He won an Oscar for his adapted screenplay The Departed, and his other writing credits include Kingdom Of Heaven, Body of Lies, Edge of Darkness and last year's remake The Gambler.

Oscar Isaac will next be seen in two highly-anticipated films, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, arriving December 18, and X-Men: Apocalypse, debuting May 27, 2016. Garrett Hedlund most recently starred in the fantasy adventure Pan, and he will next be seen in Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk. While we wait for those upcoming projects to hit theaters, take a look at these actors battle to the death in the new trailer for Mojave.
