it's definitely not Godzilla... i think it's (or was)a man...does anybody remember the old sci-fi movie and the army guy that turned colossal from radiation (or something like that) exposure ???

tha dude did say it looked like a giant lion, but if you look at the monster when it passes by (not in this trailer version) you can clearly see that it walks on 2 hind legs. me, i personaly think it's either a robot (doubtful) or perhaps an extraterrestrial of some sort, eh? anybody think about that one??

godzilla anyone? i mean what else could it possibly be? the teaser in the theatre made it look very good, but i'm a little skeptical, the third person camera angles could be very fitting for it, possibly even increase ratings.. i wonder what the monster will look like with CG, hopefully a little more animate than the last godzilla.

This movie will be a middle of the road movie. You will only have a choice amount of people who will like it. Box office hit?? Not even close. Under 10 dollars, if lucky you will have a 4 million dollar premier-week end.

Oh...and just because they have rights until 2013, doesn't mean that no movie can be legally made. All it means is that to use the creature, namesake or even reference will cost royalties. It doesn't mean outright that no one can make it. It'll just cost them, and would need to be authorized by the rights-holder. Just a thought...

Anyway...does Tristar own the American rights to Godzilla? I ask because Toho studios (original creaters of Godzilla) have been making Godzilla films almost every year for the last decade. Last one I saw, "Final Wars" (circa 2005) even included the monster from the 1998 American crap version of the movie. Godzilla killed him within 30 seconds. It was pretty cool...
