The series was first announced in September 2012, when Relativity Media and the Bandito Brothers production company revealed they were developing the movie for the small screen. National Geographic Channel gave the series a green light in October, although creative differences reportedly arose between Relativity and the Bandito Brothers.

Relativity Media and the Bandito Brothers are teaming up again for a sequel to the 2012 hit Act of Valor. Scott Wiper (The Condemned, The Marine 3: Homefront) has signed on to write and direct the follow-up, which will focus on a unit of S.W.A.T. officers. No further story details were released.
The first Act of Valor starred active-duty Navy S.E.A.L. members in a fictionalized account of a real operation. It isn't known if the plan is to bring in actual S.W.A.T. team members to star in this follow-up, but given the success of the original movie, that will likely be the case. Directed by two of the eight Bandito Brothers partners Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh (Need for Speed), Act of Valor took in $81 million worldwide from just a $12 million production budget.Read More
