You can relive the high school drama on DVD and Blu-ray this October. Assassination of a High School President will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 6. The standard DVD will be priced at $24.96 SRP while the BD will be priced at $34.95 SRP, although we don't have cover art images as of yet. The film stars Mischa Barton, Reece Daniel Thompson and Bruce Willis.

Assassination of a High School President is an acid-tongued high-school comedy with attitude to spare, starring a sexy young cast including Mischa Barton (TV's "The O.C.," The Sixth Sense), Reece Daniel Thompson (Rocket Science), and superstar Bruce Willis. Sophomore newspaper reporter Bobby Funke (Thompson) is assigned to write a cover story on popular class president and top athlete. After a stack of SAT tests is stolen from the office of hard-as-nails Principal Kirkpatrick (Willis), Funke publishes an expose that names Paul as the prime suspect and suddenly, Bobby is BMOC. But when Paul's girlfriend, sexy senior Francesca (Barton), makes a move on Bobby and even his former bullies play nice, Funke begins to doubt the star jock's guilt and everyone else's motives. When his investigation uncovers a campus-wide conspiracy that threatens to take down students and teachers alike, Funke must decide to tell the truth or enjoy his new stud status. Also starring Michael Rapaport, Luke Grimes and Aaron Himelstein.

Hot Hollywood Casting News

There's plenty of casting news going around town today. According to Variety, Ulrich Thomsen will headline the Columbia Pictures film The International. He'll be playing an investment banker who gets mixed up with arms dealers. Clive Owen and Naomi Watts co-star in this Tom Tykwer directed thriller. Shooting is set to begin soon in Berlin and Turkey.

Ashley Roberts, best known for her stint with the Pussycat Dolls, has come aboard the Weinstein Company flick Make It Happen. The film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as a young dancer who dreams of going to the Chicago School of Music and Dance. Instead, she ends up working in a local burlesque club. Roberts will be playing a fellow dancer. Darren Grant is directing Make It Happen, which is currently filming in Winnipeg.

Rumer Willis plays the troublemaking sidekick of Barton's character. Bruce Willis plays the school's twisted principal, a Desert Storm veteran who can't let go of his glory days in Kuwait. It is unknown which roles Pais and Fischer will be playing.

Reece Thompson Is ‘The Sophomore’

The plot revolves around Thompson's character, a bullied Catholic high school newspaper reporter who finds himself investigate the theft of the SAT exams by the most popular girl in school. The deeper he goes into the investigation, the more he uncovers about the school's president and its top jocks. It seems they were all in on the heist.

Barton is playing the girl suspected of stealing the SAT exam. Willis will play a deranged principle who's also a veteran of the Gulf War. His real-life daughter Rumor will be playing Barton's sidekick.
