EXCLUSIVE: Kimble Rendall Talks ‘Bait 3D’ Blu-ray

Director Kimble Rendall talks about his bloody horror-thriller Bait 3D, available on Blu-ray 3D and DVD September 18

Most directors don't become filmmakers overnight, with many cutting their teeth working in other capacities before ascending to the director's chair. Australian helmer Kimble Rendall is one such director, serving as an editor and producer before making his directorial debut with the 2000 thriller Cut. He also served as second unit director on blockbusters such as The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, I, Robot, Ghost Rider, Underworld 3: The Rise of The Lycans, and last year's Killer Elite. He returns to the helm with Bait 3D, debuting on Blu-ray 3D and DVD September 18. I recently had the chance to speak with Kimble Rendall over the phone about this new release. ‘Bait 3D’ Blu-ray and DVD Arrive September 18th

Anchor Bay Films announces the September 18th release of Bait 3D on DVD, Blu-ray and Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack. Natively shot in 3D, and filled with terrifying special effects and blood-thirsty great white sharks, Bait 3D is a fun and action-packed thrill ride. This intense 3D thriller tells the story of a group of survivors in a sleepy beach town who suddenly find themselves trapped inside a submerged supermarket, following a freak tsunami. As they try to escape to safety, they soon discover that there is a predator among them more deadly than the threat of drowning-vicious great white sharks lurking in the water, hungry for fresh meat. As the bloodthirsty sharks begin to pick the survivors off one by one, the group realizes that they must work together to find a way out without being eaten alive.

Second ‘Bait 3D’ Trailer

Hoping to fill the Shark Night 3D void in the September release slate, Anchor Bay will be unleasing their imported thriller Bait 3D in theaters this fall. This schlocky sharksploitation flick is hinged on one of the great B movie premises of the last couple years: A group of innocent shoppers are continually terrorized by both a crew of bloodthirsty two-bit cash robbers and a pack of flesh hungry tiger sharks when they all become trapped inside a water-filled supermarket after a Tsunami ravishes their small coastal town. A new red band trailer has arrived for this amusement park truffle. Watch as a shotgun wielding masked man screams, "Clean up on isle 7!" Before being munched to death!

‘Bait’ Trailer!

It looks like Shark Night 3D has some stiff competition with Australia's first ever 3D thriller Bait, directed by Russell Mulcahy and Kimble Rendall. This adventure, which will be released in Australia around the same time Shark Night 3D is released in the states, revolves around a group of shoppers who are trapped in a flooded supermarket during a freak tsunami with a gang of robbers and a pack of hungry tiger sharks. Will they make it out alive using a shark cage fashioned out of a shopping cart? Find out in the just released teaser trailer below.
