Fearing the actions of a god-like superhero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman vs Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
Back in July, just before Comic Con got under way, DC Collectibles revealed new statues depicting Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) from the highly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. As expected, those will be just the first statues fans will be able to purchase next year, and today we have our first look at the Wonder Woman statue, depicting Gal Gadot as Diana of Themyscira. The 13-inch resin statue, designed by James Marsano, features the new-look tiara, armor styling, sword, shield, bullet-deflecting bracelets, and her trademark golden lariat.
If you plan on buying the Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman statues, they will all be available sometime in March, timed to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's March 25, 2016 release date. Each figurine will cost $150, with each of these characters standing on the iconic Batman v Superman logo, which was first unveiled at Comic-Con 2013. We still have more than six months before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters, so stay tuned for more statues depicting the rest of these iconic characters.Read More
With just under six months left until Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), via Box Office Mojo, has issued a PG-13 rating for the highly-anticipated superhero movie. Almost all superhero projects are crafted for PG-13, so the rating itself isn't surprising. There is a bit of a surprise, though, in the rationale for this rating, with the MPAA revealing the movie features, "intense sequences of violence and action throughout, and some sensuality." Does this mean there is romance in the cards for some of these DC Comics characters?
"Some sensuality" is quite broad, of course, and that could be anything from kissing to dancing to actual sex scenes in the bedroom. Henry Cavill's Clark Kent and Amy Adams' Lois Lane will presumably still be a romantic couple in Batman v Superman, but it's possible that some of this "sensuality" could come from Ben Affleck's Batman and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman. One of the official photos released earlier this year showed both of these characters getting rather close, although no romance between Wonder Woman and any character has been confirmed yet.Read More
Happy Batman Day! Sadly, no, Warner Bros. is not using this DC Comics holiday to unleash a new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer. And thus far, we haven't seen anything from the studio in celebration of the occasion. But Heroic Hollywood is marking this event with another one of their 'hot rumors'. If their sources are correct, they know when and where we'll get our next look at this epic superhero adventure.
There are only six more months to go before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters, destroying the box office. And in that time, we're surely going to be bombarded with photos and footage, and tons of merchandise. But when, exactly, is this tsunami of Batman v Superman marketing going to start? How about October 26? Does that work for everyone? Good.Read More
Many fans still haven't recovered from the initial shock of seeing Jason Momoa as the King of Atlantis. Some thought he looked more like Rob Zombie than an underwater savior. The character will appear on screen with knotted-up dreadlocks and a series of tribal tattoos and matching armor. He definitely looks like someone you wouldn't make jokes about. At least not to his face. The original photo does have hints of gold, and perhaps a very dull green. But it's not the bright and poppy orange and green we're used to seeing. Will there be several costumes for Aquaman? That we don't know yet. But it's hard to imagine the iconic DC character lounging around in this getup while awaiting his next meeting at the Hall of Justice.
Jason Momoa is expected to make his debut appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, though that has never been confirmed by anyone directly associated with the movie. He will then next be seen in Justice League Part 1, which arrives in 2017, before moving onto his own solo adventure in 2018. He's expected to appear in Justice League Part 2 in 2019. It isn't known if he is scheduled to appear in any of the other upcoming DC Comics movies. His role in Batman v Superman is said to be a glorified cameo, and won't consist of more than two scenes.Read More
The way he makes it sound, Warner Bros. isn't really interested in making another solo Superman movie in the near future. Even if fans seem to want it right away. Though, no one has yet said no to the rumor that Ben Affleck is set to co-write, direct and star in an Untitled Batman Reboot, which is said to set up a new trilogy. While DC and Warner Bros. seemed to have their comic book movie line-up set until 2020, it's always possible that we'll hear about more movies being added to the mix before release in 2019. But it sounds like an impossible task with 10 movies already on the way.
