Here Comes the Boom


Former collegiate wrestler Scott Voss is a 42-year-old apathetic biology teacher in a failing high school. When cutbacks threaten to cancel the music program and lay off its teacher, Scott begins to raise money by moonlighting as a mixed martial arts fighter. Everyone thinks Scott is crazy most of all the school nurse, Bella but in his quest, Scott gains something he never expected as he becomes a sensation that rallies the entire school.

‘Here Comes the Boom’ Trailer

Sony Pictures has released the first trailer and two photos for Here Comes the Boom, the new mixed martial arts comedy from director Frank Coraci (The Waterboy). Kevin James stars as a high school teacher, who decides to step into the MMA octagon to raise money for his school. Take a look at the comedian taking a beating for a worthy cause in this new video, along with the new photos.

‘Premium Rush’ Pushed to Summer 2012

David Koepp's Sony thriller Premium Rush, not to be confused with Ron Howard's Formula 1 racing biopic Rush, has been pushed from January 13th of next year to August 24th, giving it a prime slab of late summer real estate not currently occupied by any other movie.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in Premium Rush as an NYC bike messenger who gets embroiled in a high stakes chase with a dirty cop after picking up an envelope at Columbia University.

Henry Winkler Set for ‘Here Comes the Boom’

Henry Winkler has boarded Sony's action-comedy Here Comes the Boom, starring opposite Kevin James and Salma Hayek.

According to Variety, Frank Coraci is directing from a script by Kevin James and Allan Loeb. The story centers on a teacher who moonlights as a mixed martial arts fighter in order to save his school's music program.

‘Total Recall’, ‘Here Comes the Boom’, and ‘I Hate You, Dad’ Set 2012 Release Dates

Summer 2012 is heating up for moviegoers as Columbia Pictures adds three highly anticipated films to its summer slate, it was announced today by Jeff Blake, chairman, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for Sony Pictures. Joining the strong summer line-up that already includes Men in Black III in 3D (May 25) and The Amazing Spider-Man in 3D (July 3), the studio will release I Hate You Dad, starring Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg, on June 22, Here Comes the Boom, starring Kevin James, on July 27, and a re-imagining of Total Recall, starring Colin Farrell, on August 3.

I Hate You Dad centers on a father (Sandler) who moves in on the eve of his son's (Samberg) wedding and promptly begins feuding with the bride-to-be. Adam Sandler, Jack Giarraputo and Heather Parry are producing, Barry Bernardi serves as executive producer, with the screenplay by David Caspe and David Wain & Ken Marino.
