The director added earlier this month that he wanted to give Beatrix some time with her daughter, and give her a lot of time to find peace, which would be reflected in real time, and is one of the reasons a sequel hasn't happened yet. This is all certainly good news for fans of this two-part action saga, since, just a few years ago, the director said he wasn't interested in exploring genres he's already tackled before. Perhaps he changed his mind after directing two Westerns in a row, with Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight, which is currently playing in theaters.

While he stopped short of revealing any specific story details, there are a couple of possibilities that could be explored for Kill Bill 3. You may recall that, in Kill Bill Vol. 1, Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox) is the first target of Beatrix Kiddo (Uma Thurman). ‘Kill Bill 3’ Still Possible; What's Taking So Long?

Ever since Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2 were released over ten years ago, fans have been wondering when director Quentin Tarantino will return to finish the story with Kill Bill: Vol. 3. Quentin Tarantino No Longer Interested in ‘Kill Bill Vol. 3’, But He Wants to Do a Horror Movie

For fans of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2 who were hoping to see Kill Bill: Vol. 3 some day, the director reveals in a recent interview that he has no plans to make that sequel at this time.

While he doesn't want to revisit the action/kung fu genre with Kill Bill 3, the filmmaker revealed last month that his next project will be another Western. It certainly won't be a sequel to last year's Django Unchained. But will it be another 'true' American Western? His reference to "Honshu's movies," which are Japanese Westerns, may serve as a hint that his next project is set in Japan, and will hold to that style of filmmaking.
