Peace, Love and Misunderstanding


For uptight Manhattan lawyer Diane (Keener), crazy means driving her teenage son Jake (Wolff) and adult daughter Zoe (Olsen) to visit their grandmother Grace (Fonda). The crazy part is that the kids have never met Grace. In fact, Diane hasn't spoken to her mother in twenty years. Grace is the epitome of the term “hippie”: she stages protests and hootenan¬nies in the town square, smokes (and sells) a lot of dope, and howls at the moon once a month with her goddess-worshipping girlfriends. But what’s meant to be a weekend getaway turns into a summer adventure of romance, music, family secrets, and self-discovery.

Chace Crawford Joins the Cast of ‘Peace, Love and Misunderstanding’ We reported last month that two actresses have signed on to director Bruce Beresford's new film and now a new actor has joined the cast as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has signed on to the cast of Peace, Love and Misunderstanding.

Crawford joins the cast that already includes Jane Fonda and Catherine Keener. The film centers on Keener's character, a conservative lawyer who takes her children to live with her estranged, hippie mother (Fonda) in Woodstock after her husband leaves her. Crawford will play a butcher who vocally opposes the Iraq war, who gets noticed by the politically-fueled daughter of Keener's character.
