‘Pirates 5’: First Look at Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow!

Production on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has been under way for the past few months, and we already got a brief glimpse at Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in a behind-the-scenes photo from the set. Today, producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed a new photo of the actor in full costume, as he is seen being tied to a post by two enemy pirates. We reported last month that the actor was injured on the set, but production wasn't notably impacted. What did Jack do to deserve such a fate? We likely won't know for quite some time, since the sequel isn't slated to hit theaters until July 7, 2017, but hopefully we get more photos of the actor as production continues.

‘Pirates 5’: Johnny Depp Injured, Production Impacted Minimally

It hasn't been a safe month for Disney's most iconic actors. First Star Wars: The Force Awakens legend Harrison Ford crashes his plane on a golf course. And now, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales star Johnny Depp has injured his hand in Australia, while on location for his upcoming sequel. Don't worry too much though, production is only being 'minimally impacted' and the accident will not affect the July 7th, 2017 release date.

Johnny Depp was not filming Pirates of the Caribbean 5 when the injured occurred. He did have to be flown back to the United States for surgery on his hand. A spokesperson for Disney later confirmed the incident. Dead Men Tell No Tales only began shooting last month, and it is scheduled to wrap sometime this summer.
