Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Dennis Quaid star in “Playing For Keeps,” a romantic comedy about a charming, down-on-his luck former soccer star (Butler) who returns home to put his life back together. Looking for a way to rebuild his relationship with his son, he gets roped into coaching the boy’s soccer team. But his attempts to finally become an “adult” are met with hilarious challenges from the attractive “soccer moms” who pursue him at every turn. "Playing For Keeps" is directed by Gabriele Muccino, the director of "The Pursuit of Happiness."

FilmDistrict has slated the sci-fi thriller Looper for release on September 28, 2012. As of now, Looper is the only movie set to open on that date.

Looper stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt who works for the mafia in a society where time travel is prevalent. He, along with other enforcers known as Loopers, kill those who were sent from the future. In Playing the Field, Gerard Butler plays George Dryer, a former soccer player who goes back to try and patch things up with his son (Noah Lomax) and estranged wife (Jessica Biel) - who is engaged to remarry someone else - and ends up coaching the boy's soccer team. He becomes the subject of fascination and desire by every bored house wife in town, especially the gorgeous Patti (Uma Thurman) who sets out on a mission to seduce the coach. Dryer must try to survive the extreme temptations of Patti and advances of the other soccer moms, as well as revive his relationship with his son.

Gerard Butler Circling ‘Slide’

Actor Gerard Butler is setting up a new film to star in produce Slide, a film that is getting a shift in focus from baseball to soccer, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The film, written by Robbie Fox, was originally titled Confessions of a Little League Coach, which centered on a father (Gerard Butler) with a troubled past who seeks to make up for lost time by coaching his son's Little League baseball team. He gets into hot water when the single mothers of his players take an interest in him. Now it's being reported that the film will be reworked and Butler's character will now be coaching a soccer team.
