Alice Abernathy (Milla Jovovich) continues her battle against The Umbrella Corporation's hostile AI system The Red Queen (Megan Charpentier) with the help of her friends Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory), Leon Scott Kennedy (Johann Urb), Ada Wong (Li Bingbing), and her daughter Becky (Aryanna Engineer), while continuing an uneasy alliance with the former head of Umbrella, Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts). Along the way, they will reconnect with former comrades Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller), Claire Redfield (Ali Larter), and Kmart (Spencer Locke). Their epic battle will lead them back to where it all began in the dark mansion built by Umbrella founder Lord Ozwell E. After a long delay, it looks like the eagerly-awaited Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is finally ready to get off the ground. Franchise star Milla Jovovich confirms that production prep on the 6th installment of the long-standing series will begin this week in South Africa. She doesn't give an exact start date for shooting to take place, but expect it to be soon. The actress, who has appeared in every single Resident Evil movie, will reprise her role as Alice. And she has shared an instagram photo of her first face cast as effects work gets underway.
It was last August that Milla Jovovich and her husband and director Paul W.S. Anderson announced that Resident Evil: The Final Chapter was getting delayed. The pair were expecting their second child together, and due to the extensive stunt regime that Milla has to undertake as Alice, they thought it would be better to halt production for a year, rather than put her through any unnecessary physical harm. But now, it looks like the movie is back on track, with the pair preparing to bring us the last, best installment of this popular video game adaptation franchise.Read More

No other cast members have been confirmed for what is expected to be the last installment of the franchise.

It's possible that there was a mix-up in the director's translation, and that he actually meant the title is Resident Evil Rising, but either way, this is the first time we've heard the title being mentioned.
