Saw IV

Jigsaw still haunts the living in Saw IV, forcing them to appreciate life, or face death. As a continuation of Saw III, Jeff must find his daughter and escape the building to which they are confined before they both die. After finding another tape of Jigsaw, Jeff realizes there may be a newly added piece of the puzzle that he must decipher before it's too late.

BOOS! and WHOOP-DOOS!: The Return of ‘The Whoop-doo!’

Evening. I'm back after a month long tour through Europe with the punk square dance outfit Ma Bilical and The Chords. Each and every night was an alcohol-fueled rager that hit my skin like an A-Bomb. You wouldn't know it to look at them, but senior citizens are starting to get pretty funky. I think I saw one too many grandmas with a nose piercing and extensive body art. What a bunch of radicals. And Vietnam War Vets. I learned to shotgun Everclear off a half naked stripper, and that kept me from learning how to Do Paso and Grand Square. I hope ol' fat and bones Spooker Washington kept you entertained in my absence. But never fear; I'm back with a whole nickel bag full of Whoop-Doo! In my back left pocket. Promenade!

Minutegate? Boo!

Box Office Beat Down: ‘Saw IV’ Slaughters the Competition with $32 Million

Jigsaw may be dead, but that didn't stop him from conquering the Halloween box office for the third straight year in a row. The madman's fourth entry in the Saw franchise saw a hefty $32 million opening. Not a bad take by any means, yet the dollar amount was slightly off from last year's Saw III which nabbed $33 million over the course of its debut weekend. Still, Saw IV fared better than Saw II's premier take of $31 million. I think it all evens out rather nicely in the long run. This $32 million take should guarantee that Saw V and VI are fast-tracked into production. Can the upcoming strike be the one foe capable of defeating Jigsaw? That just might be the case. We'll have to wait and see.

Dan in Real Life proved to be a nice bit of counter programming, bringing in $12 million to take the second spot on the box office charts. This Disney charmer has won over critics and audiences alike, once again proving that Steve Carell is a bankable name. And it was nice to have some family fare around the blooded splattered scene at the metroplex this weekend.

Scott Patterson, Lyriq Bent, and Mark Burg Get Bloody in ‘Saw IV’!

Scott Patterson, Lyriq Bent, and Mark Burg Get Bloody in Saw IV!

It's Saw IV week. You know what that means. We will finally get to see what became of Jigsaw and his apprentice Amanda. By all accounts, they should be dead. But are they? We don't have these answers just yet. So all we can do is speculate until Friday. Personally, I think Saw IV is going to continue the franchise's progressive trajectory. This is one of the few continuing film series that just keeps getting better and better with each passing entry.

Tobin Bell Chimes in on ‘Saw IV’!

I think Darren Lynn Bousman is going to bring the goods this time out. I really do. I have a very strong hunch that Saw IV is going to make us even hungrier for more. I love the perfect cliffhanger, and I truly want to see how this one begins and ends. Thing is, they aren't screening it for any of us. And those that have seen the film have only seen the first seventy-five minutes of it. The last two reels were missing. I don't know about you, but I kind of like that element of surprise. It's making me very antsy. I just gotta know what happened. And how Jigsaw has managed to survive his own death.

Tobin Bell: Hello. Good morning, everyone. I'm here.
