SIN CITY stars Bruce Willis as Hartigan, a cop with a bum ticker and a vow to protect stripper Nancy (Jessica Alba); Mickey Rourke as Marv, the outcast misanthrope on a mission to avenge the death of his one true love, Goldie (Jaime King), and Clive Owen as Dwight, the clandestine love of Shelley (Brittany Murphy), who spends his nights defending Gail (Rosario Dawson) and her Old Towne girls (Devon Aoki and Alexis Bledel) from Jackie Boy (Benicio Del Toro), a dirty cop with a penchant for violence.

Robert Rodriguez also indicated that Sin City 2 will incorporate the graphic novel volume A Dame to Kill For, and two brand new stories written by Frank Miller, one of which is entitled The Long, Bad Night.

No ‘Sin City’ Blu-Ray Until 2009

For those waiting for Robert Rodriguez's stylized film in high-def, you'll just have to wait a little longer. The Digital Bits has confirmed with Buena Vista Home Entertainment that plans for the Blu-Ray release of Sin City has been pushed back to sometime in 2009.

There was a rumored Blu-Ray street date for Sin City on October 21, but the studio said that isn't so. The studio also confirmed its plans for a BD version of Finding Nemo will be pushed to next year as well.

‘Sin City’ TV Series Coming Soon

According to Variety, Harvey and Bob Weinstein's nascent multimedia entity the Weinstein Co. is in final negotiations with Barbara Schneeweiss to develop a TV slate.

Projects include a skein based on Alexander McCall Smith's "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency," with Love Actually helmer-scribe Richard Curtis aboard to draft the pilot, with Anthony Minghella to direct. The bestseller centers on a female gumshoe in Botswana.

‘Sin City’ Takes the Top Spot Once Again

According to The Hollywood Reporter, DreamWorks Home Entertainment's The Ring Two might have narrowly outpaced Buena Vista Home Entertainment's Sin City at the boxoffice, but its first-week DVD sales weren't enough to bump the stylish thriller from the top of the preliminary national sales chart for the week ending Aug. 28.

The sequel to the horror hit The Ring debuted at No. 2 on VideoScan's First Alert sales chart, while Sin City retained the top spot for the second consecutive week.
