‘The Eye’ Opens Up on DVD and Blu-Ray on June 3rd

Get ready to use those peepers in a whole new way this June. The Eye is coming to DVD and Blu-Ray on June 3. The film will be available in a single-disc, two-disc special edition and a Blu-Ray edition, although no pricing or special features details have been released. The film stars Jessica Alba, Parker Posey and Alessandro Nivola.

Sydney Wells (Jessica Alba) is an accomplished, independent, Los Angeles-based concert violinist. She is also blind, and has been so since a childhood tragedy. As our story opens, Sydney undergoes a double corneal transplant, a surgery she has waited her whole life to have, and her sight is restored. After the surgery, neural ophthalmologist Dr. Paul Faulkner (Alessandro Nivola) helps Sydney with the difficult adjustment, and with the support of her older sister Helen (Parker Posey), Sydney learns to see again.

Alessandro Nivola Is Playing Doctor in ‘The Eye’

Alessandro Nivola started to make a name for himself in the late nineties with standout supporting roles in such films as Face/Off, Best Laid Plans, and Jurassic Park III. He then went on to perform live on stage and appear in a number of smaller independent films. Last month saw Nivola returning to the big screen in the John Cusack drama Grace is Gone. He is now headlining the Lionsgate thriller The Eye, which is probably one of his most commercial films to date.
