The Muppets Review

“Nice Try, But I Moved On”

February 23rd, 2012

The Muppets is a 2011 musical comedy movie.

Directed by: James Bobin

Starring: Jason Segel, Amy Adams The Muppets, a new character named Walter, and celebrity cameos.

I won't lie, I saw The Muppets when I was a kid. But I experienced The Muppet Babies while I spent my days in daycare just before nap time. They were fun, but that was back when I was a toddler. Sure, once you see them, you can't ever forget them, but the joys of wanting to see them are gone for me. The plot was simple and the ending too obvious, hell they even tell you. The singing by Jason Segel and Amy Adams were good. But it's for the kids of today and the parents that grew up with them. I gave this movie a shot, and I was not entertained in slightest. I hope you kept the receipt, cause that laughter is going back to the store. I can see why it has a nomination for best original song; its catchy not that bad, but overall, the spark for these characters just wasn't there anymore. A moderate box office performance and a bombardment of fresh reviews. This is nostalgia, and you will expect fans to take a trip down memory lane. I did, but I ran out of gas. Overall, it means well, and I won't deny the entertainment and laughter wasn't there, but not for me.
