‘The Wolverine’ Sets July 2013 Release Date

20th Century Fox has handed out a July 26, 2013 release date for The Wolverine, the sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman as the title character. The Wolverine will be going up against Phineas and Ferb and Dirty Dancing.

The release date falls in line with a report from August, which revealed that production will not start until spring 2012. An exact production start date has not been released yet, but it seems this superhero sequel is finally on the right track. James Mangold is directing The Wolverine from a script by Christopher McQuarrie, with Mark Bomback rewriting the draft.

‘This Means War’ Secures PG-13 Rating

Yesterday, we reported that 20th Century Fox lost its appeal to the MPAA for its action-comedy This Means War to land a PG-13 rating. That apparently didn't sit well with Fox, since they agreed to cut out several sex jokes to receive the coveted PG-13 rating.

Chelsea Handler's character makes these lewd jokes in the movie, but it isn't known how racy they actually were. The MPAA's statement yesterday noted the rating was justified due to, "some sexual content," but that apparently isn't the case anymore. Let's just hope they didn't have to cut any scenes of Reese Witherspoon dancing around her kitchen.

We reported earlier this month that Fox made the unorthodox move to release This Means War on Tuesday, February 14. Reese Witherspoon stars in This Means War as a woman torn between two men (Tom Hardy and Chris Pine), who both happen to be spies. So much for the kids getting their PG-13 rated Valentine's Day movie.
