Thor: The Dark World

(2013)

Marvel’s "Thor: The Dark World" continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s "Thor" and "Marvel’s The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

‘Thor 2’ Deleted Scene Shows Loki Wielding Mjolnir

‘Thor 2’ Deleted Scene Shows Loki Wielding Mjolnir

If Avengers: Age of Ultron helped to prove anything, it's that no one can wield Mjolnir. Except maybe Captain America, who may have been faking it. Thor's legendary hammer was laid out like a party trick, and the rest of his comrades were offered the chance to pick it up. They all failed, though Steve Rogers was able to nudge it ever so slightly. And Vision easily handed it back to Thor, but he's an android and doesn't count. A new deleted scene from Thor: The Dark World teases that Loki might have the power to swing this mighty weapon. Maybe.

The Thor 2 deleted scene arrives as part of the 13-Disc Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two Collection, which is in stores just in time for the holiday gift giving season. But as we learn from watching this scene, it is all an illusion. We get to watch Locki's coronation, where he is welcomed by the Warriors 3 to the throne. He is draped in red, offering his crowd a hearty hello as he receives a standing ovation. And he lifts Mjolnir in the air with all his might!

‘Ant-Man’ TV Spot Gets Weird with Paul Rudd & Michael Douglas

‘Ant-Man’ TV Spot Gets Weird with Paul Rudd & Michael Douglas

What are we watching here? Marvel and Disney have debuted a very strange TV spot for their new superhero adventure Ant-Man. It features stars Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas scatting about ants. They slap their chests, beating out a tribal rhythm used to call forth the insects. What does it all mean? Why are they doing this? We really have no idea!

There has been some concern from fans that the latest spat of Ant-Man clips and TV spots have been too spoilerish. One such TV spot even goes as far as to reveal the movie's secret Avengers cameo. Well, it's not a secret anymore, as Anthony Mackie's Falcon, who became a bonafide Avenger in Avengers: Age of Ultron, meets Scott Lang for the first time. We've included it here, in case you haven't seen it yet, or need some extra incentive to get yourself in theaters this weekend.

Marvel Previews ‘Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King’

Marvel Previews ‘Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King’

One of the numerous special features attached to the Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD release of Thor: The Dark World, is the latest Marvel short film, Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King. Last night, I headed down to the Arclight Hollywood for a screening of this short, which features Ben Kingsley reprising his Iron Man 3 role as Trevor Slattery, the British actor who tricked the world into thinking he was a dangerous terrorist known as The Mandarin. These shorts have become big hits with the fans, but All Hail the King is by far the biggest one yet, that you surely won't want to miss.

The 15-minute short opens with Jackson Norris (Scoot McNairy) a documentary filmmaker who arrives at Seagate Prison for his final interview with Trevor Slattery, as he tries to figure out who, exactly, this mysterious man really is. However, before the interview itself, we see how playing the Mandarin truly has become this failed actor's "big break." He is the closest thing to an A-list celebrity among the inmates, with his own bodyguard/doting assistant Herman (Lester Speight) and a growing legion of fans.
