While we didn't think Josh Duhamel wouldn't be in Transformers 3, the star recently confirmed his involvement and gave some other details as well. CinemaBlend caught up with the actor at ShoWest today, who said that the Transformers 3 script was complete and that the film would shoot this summer. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis and Oscar-nominated actress Anne Hathaway arose early this morning to announce The 82nd Annual Academy Award nominations. Avatar tied with The Hurt Locker for most recognized film of 2009, with both garnering nine nominations each.

The 13th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards, presented by Starz, have announced that director Kathryn Bigelow will be honored with the "Hollywood Director Award," Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Nora Ephron will be presented with the "Hollywood Screenwriter Award," Disney/Pixar's Up directed by Peter Docter, will get the "Hollywood Animation Award," and Paramount Pictures' Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and visual effects supervisor Scott Farrar will receive the "Hollywood Visual Effects Award" at the festival's Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony.

Summer 2009 has beat every summer movie going season before it to become the highest grossing summer at the domestic box office ever. According to Variety, the box office revenue throughout Sunday has been calculated at $4.17 billion. That is compared to the summer of 2007, which was the previous record holder with $4.16 billion. The Labor Day weekend should add another $100 million to that estimate, which finds summer 2009 up three percent in total grosses.
The three films that helped lead this amazing new record were Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($399.4 million), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince ($294.3 million), and Disney/Pixar's Up ($289.6 million). The grosses were also helped by surprise hits such as The Hangover, which brought in an unexpected $270.2 million, and The Proposal, which pulled in a hefty $160.2 million.Read More
