‘Transporter 3’ Brings the Action to DVD and Blu-ray on March 10th

You can bring the latest adventure of Frank Martin home on DVD and Blu-ray this March. Transporter 3 will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on March 10. Frank Martin has been pressured into transporting Valentina, the kidnapped daughter of Leonid Vasilev, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency for the Ukraine, from Marseilles through Stuttgart and Budapest until he ends up in Odessa on the Black Sea. Along the way, with the help of Inspector Tarconi, Frank has to contend with the people who strong armed him to take the job, agents sent by Vasilev to intercept him, and the general non-cooperation of his passenger. Despite Valentina’s cynical disposition and his resistance to get involved, Frank and Valentina fall for each other, while escaping from one life-threatening situation after another.

Four Christmases managed to stay strong in second place, taking in another $13.2 million. The Reese Witherspoon/Vince Vaughn Christmas comedy is fast becoming the surprise hit of the winter, with $87 million in grosses over the course of the last three weeks. Gus Van Sant's Harvey Milk biopic simply titled Milk added 229 theaters this week, which enabled it to crack the top ten with $2.6 million in ninth place.

Next week, Klaatu will have to contend with Mikey Rourke's award worthy turn in The Wrestler, the animated kiddy flick The Tale of Despereaux, Will Smith's mysterious Seven Pounds, and the Jim Carrey comedy Yes Man.

BOX OFFICE BEAT DOWN: ‘Four Christmas’ Continues Its Gift Getting Journey with $18.1 Million

For the second weekend in a row, the Vince Vaughn/Reese Witherspoon holiday comedy Four Christmases dominated the box office charts with $18.1 million. After just two weeks in release, the film has made an accumulated gross of $70.8 million, making it the first Christmas hit of the season.

In a surprising twist of fate, Twilight jumped back up into the number two spot with another $13 million. Fans are truly enjoying this teen vampire romance, and it's the repeat business that's keeping it afloat. After just three weeks in release, the film has brought in an amazing $138.5 million. Those squirrelly vamps seems to be playing tag team with Disney's animated caper Bolt, which hasn't fallen out of the top three yet. It made another $$9.6 million, bringing its tally to $79.2 million.

BOX OFFICE BEAT DOWN: ‘Four Christmases’ Dominates Thanksgiving Weekend with $31.6 Million

The film with the best per screen average this weekend was Gus Van Sant's Harvey Milk biopic Milk. Opening in just 36 theaters, the film averaged an astounding $38,361 for a take of $1.3 million in tenth place. That means, given the 3,310 screens held by Four Christmases, Milk could have potentially made $1 billion dollars, marking it as the number one box office grosser of all time. Take that, The Dark Knight!

Next weekend is a quick grab for cash that will most likely belong to the return of Frank Castle in Punisher: War Zone. Two Oscar contenders will be vying for tickets as Cadillac Records and Ron Howard's Frost/Nixon open against each other. And you can also look for Nobel Son to make some noise.
