A sequel to Ben Stiller's 2001 hit comedy revolving around male fashion model Derek Zoolander.
Ben Stiller has been regularly revealing new cast members for his comedy sequel Zoolander 2 through his social media pages ever since shooting began last month. Today the actor/writer/director/producer shared a new photo on his Instagram page, featuring his character Derek Zoolander staring down pop star Justin Bieber, who has joined the cast. The musician's role has yet to be revealed, so it's possible that he could be playing himself in a cameo, or he could also be portraying a blue steel rival of Derek's.
Regardless of who Justin Bieber is playing, he joins a cast that also includes Owen Wilson, Christine Taylor, Penélope Cruz, Cyrus Arnold, Billy Zane, Fred Armisen, Kyle Mooney, Kristen Wiig and Olivia Munn. The sequel will mark Justin Bieber's first major movie role, although he did have an uncredited part in last year's Behaving Badly, which starred his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. He also had a two-episode arc on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, had a guest voice role on The Simpsons and provides the voice of K.I.T.T. in the upcoming Killing Hasselhoff. Of course, he also starred in the feature-length concert documentaries Justin Bieber: Never Say Never and Justin Bieber's Believe.Read More

Today, he announces another new cast member. This time, it's Fred Armisen who is packing his bags for Rome. And we mean that quite literally.

Ben Stiller has not been shying away from his Twitter and Instagram pages as Zoolander 2 continues production. Last week, the director/star revealed that Cyrus Arnold is playing his son, Derek Jr., while also confirming that actress Penélope Cruz has joined the cast. The actor/director took to both his Twitter and Instagram pages today, to reveal that Billy Zane will be coming back for the sequel.
Billy Zane had an uncredited role in the original 2001 comedy Zoolander as himself, a good friend to male model extraordinaire Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller). Today's video showed Ben Stiller in character as Derek Zoolander, approaching someone assumed to be Hansel (Owen Wilson), as Derek asks how cool it would be if Billy Zane appeared in Zoolander 2. But as we get closer, it turns out to be Billy Zane in a Hansel wig, who says, "Yeah, it'd be great" if he came back.Read More
Back in November, when it was reported that the long-awaited sequel Zoolander 2 is finally moving forward, we also found out that Penélope Cruz had joined the cast. The actress was never confirmed until today, when star/co-writer/director Ben Stiller revealed on his Twitter and Instagram pages that Penélope Cruz has in fact joined the cast. Unfortunately, no details were released regarding who she may be playing.
She joins a cast that includes Ben Stiller (Derek Zoolander), Owen Wilson (Hansel), Will Ferrell (Mugatu) and Christine Taylor (Matilda), who are reprising their roles from the original 2001 comedy Zoolander. The news of Penélope Cruz's confirmation comes just a few days after Ben Stiller announced another new cast member, Cyrus Arnold, who is playing Derek and Matilda's son, Derek Jr. The very end of Zoolander showed Derek Jr. as a newborn, with the sequel set 15 years after the original.Read More
We reported last month that production is under way on Paramount's long-awaited sequel Zoolander 2, with stars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson crashing the catwalk of Paris' Fashion Week to officially announce the project. With shooting now happening in Rome, Ben Stiller took to his Instagram page today to reveal a new photo from the set, which introduces Cyrus Arnold as his on-screen son, Derek Zoolander Jr. The character was actually revealed at the end of the original Zoolander, when he was just a baby, nearly 14 years ago.
Paramount has not released an official synopsis for Zoolander 2 quite yet, but we know that Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are returning as elite male models Derek Zoolander and Hansel, along with Christine Taylor as Derek's wife Matilda Jeffries. Will Ferrell is also expected to return as Mugatu, with Penélope Cruz joining the cast in an unspecified role. Production is scheduled to take place for 12 weeks in Rome, in and around Cinecittà Studios.Read More
Two weeks ago, Paramount officially announced that Zoolander 2 is happening, giving the long-awaited comedy a February 2016 release date. With shooting starting soon, we don't have to wait until Valentine's Day to see the return of best friends and catwalk rivals Derek Zoolander and Hansel. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, who are reprising their iconic roles, have brought us yet another fashion shoot, this time posing just outside of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Zoolander 2 will actually start filming in late spring. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson will be joined by co-stars Christine Taylor and Penélope Cruz in Rome for 12 weeks as shooting takes place in and around the famed Cinecittà Studios. As for the story, which was written by Ben Stiller and Justin Theroux, everything is being kept tightly under wraps for the time being.Read More
