Movies You Haven't Seen with the Cast of The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy on television. And as it saturates syndication while continuing to rack up big numbers during its prime time debut of new episodes, more and more fans are becoming addicted to the wacky antics of Leonard and Sheldon, two brilliant but socially awkward physicists living together and working in Pasadena, California, as they juggle their relationships and friendships with Penny, Amy Farrah Fowler, Howard, Raj, Bernadette and Stuart. Before and during their long and successful 7 season run, the entire cast has contributed to some lesser known movies that you may have never seen or even heard about. Premise: Four years before talking on the now iconic role of Leonard Hofstadter, Johnny Galecki parlayed his easy charm and good nature into this hardly seen crime comedy playing Jude, one of four college friends who decide to start a small-time gambling operation out of their dorm room, only to find their success targeted by an organized crime syndicate lurking just outside the campus. [2] Jim Parsons (Sheldon) in Gardener of Eden

Tagline: When bad things happen to good people! Premise: Fans of Sheldon may be shocked to see Jim Parsons smoking pot and drinking beer as Spim, one of Adam Harris' weirder best friends. Lukas Haas stars as Adam, a college dropout who returns to his New Jersey hometown to work in a deli and hang out with his equally unambitious hometown buddies. Things take a turn for the weird when Adam accidentally captures a serial rapist, and his newfound fame convinces him to become a vigilante. Despite 7 years on TV's highest rated comedy, Spim is one of Jim Parsons' only major roles as he helps Adam find a little bit of purpose in life. As of now, Parsons has yet to take on a leading role in a major motion picture. Bazinga Meter: 6 Bazingas!

[3] Kaley Cuoco (Penny) in Crimes of Fashion

Tagline: Ruthless ambition is always in style. Premise: Of all her cast mates, Kaley Cuoco has the most storied acting career and the most on-screen credits in both TV and film. She takes the lead in this high school comedy, about a burgeoning fashion designer who inherits the family business, making her an instant mob boss. With the help of two friends and a well-dressed gangster, she becomes the most popular student in her class, and wins the heart of the cutest boy on campus...Who just happens to be an undercover FBI agent! This indie comedy is notable for giving Megan Fox a secondary role before her big break three years later in Transformers. And TBBT fans might be shocked to see the very sexy Penny as a sloppy pigpen in need of a classic makeover. Bazinga Meter: 8 Bazingas!

[4] Simon Helberg (Howard) in Let Go

Tagline: A comedy about love, loss and other felonies. Premise: Made during the The Big Bang Theory Season 4, Simon Helberg plays lovelorn Frank in this indie comedy that features a strong ensemble cast of notable TV actors including David Denman, Gillian Jacobs and Edward Asner, as well as comedian and rising box office draw Kevin Hart. Denman takes the lead as a probation officer who must juggle his married life with three eccentric ex-convicts recently placed under his supervision. Like Parsons, despite seven years as the main cast member on TV's biggest comedy, Helberg has yet to parlay that fame and fortune into a major motion picture career, instead playing bit parts in mostly straight-to-video fare like this. [5] Kunal Nayyar (Raj) in S.C.I.E.N.C.E

Tagline: Dating isn't an art...it's a science. Premise: Of all his co-stars, Kunal Nayyar has the least amount of screen credits, appearing in only one movie before taking on the role of Raj Koothrappali in 2007. He shines in the supporting role of 'Pizza Man' in S.C.I.E.N.C.E, a low budget romantic comedy about an awkward inventor who is constantly hounded by the CIA. While trying to come up with a new invention, he falls in love with a beautiful and mysterious woman that takes him on a surreal and comical adventure through the highs and lows of dating. It's a little hard to find, but its worth seeking out just to see Kunal three years before taking on the now iconic role of an introverted scientist who can only speak to women once he's chugged a couple of Silver Bullet cans. [6] Melissa Rauch (Bernadette) in Delirious

Tagline: Everybody deserves their shot. Premise: The same year The Big Bang Theory made its small screen debut on CBS, later addition to the cast Melissa Rauch was busy making her acting debut in the indie comedy Delirious, opposite Steve Buscemi and Michael Pitt. The story follows Les, a small-time paparazzi desperate to make it big in New York. He befriends Toby, a homeless young man with the vague desire to come an actor. When, by chance, Toby becomes romantically involved with the hottest pop star of the moment, Les grows jealous and decides to plot revenge with the help of Melissa Rauch's Megan and Gina Gershon's Dana. Bazinga Meter: 6.4 Bazingas!

[7] Mayim Bialik (Amy) in Kalamazoo?

Tagline: You can't run away from your future.Premise: Best known for playing the title character on the 90s sitcom Blossom , Mayim Bialik is an accomplished TV actress who made her debut at 12 years of age in the cult classic 1989 horror movie Pumpkinhead. It wasn't until 2006 that she took her first major role in a motion picture with the indie comedy Kalamazoo?. Bialik stars as one of three best friends who returns to her hometown for their ten year high school reunion. It is there that a time capsule will be opened, exposing their hopes and desires for the future. Mortified by their lack of accomplishment, the three women go on a search and destroy mission, hoping to keep the contents of the time capsule a secret forever. Bazinga Meter: 5.7 Banzingas!

[8] Kevin Sussman (Stuart) in Freeloaders

Tagline: Crashing for a few days since 2005. Premise: Kevin Sussman is an accomplished character actor who has appeared in tons of movies and TV shows over the years, often playing major secondary roles opposite some of the biggest names in the business. In the midst of establishing his recurring role as Stuart, the owner of a local Pasadena comic book shop, Kevin took on one of the leading roles in the ensemble comedy Freeloaders, about a group of slackers living for free in a rock star's mansion. When the musician decides to sell his pad, the lives of these 'freeloaders' is thrown into utter turmoil. The film is most notable for also featuring the members of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe. [9] John Ross Bowie (Kripke) in Wild Girls Gone

Tagline: An ass is a terrible thing to waste. Premise: Bowie, who plays the nemesis of the science lab, has turned his smarmy persona into a career as the go-to character actor for tons of great indie comedies. One of his best is this Girls Gone Wild spoof from the Upright Citizens Brigade, where he plays a priest opposite bad girl Amy Poehler and fellow comedians Matt Walsh, Matt Besser and Ian Roberts. The story follows the Sheriff of White Sands Florida, who bans the town's yearly world famous ass contest to win the mayoral vote from the elderly. It doesn't help that his wife is one of the more prominent past winners. In a bid to break out of her bored existence and recapture her youth, the aging ass queen sinks her husband's campaign hoping to win once again. If you're missing The Big Bang Theory for its humor over Christmas break, this one is probably your best bet. Bazinga Meter: 8.9 Bazingas!

[10] Kate Micucci (Lucy) in The Last Hurrah

Tagline: One shot to get it right. Premise: Best known as one half of the comedy folk duo Garfunkel & Oates alongside Riki Lindhome (they wrote Howard's 'Bernadette' song), Micucci racked up an impress list of cameos all across the television landscape before landing the role of Raj's ex-girlfriend Lucy. At the same time, she has a recurring role on Raising Hope. But one of her first acting gigs was in this 2008 comedy, notorious for being filmed in one continuous shot. The story follows a group of philosophy majors on their last night together after graduation. Kate stars as Susan, the younger, awkward sister of one of the graduates, who manages to get into plenty of trouble before this one location house party closes out its 80 minute run time. It's a little on the cheap side, but its clear that Micucci is the breakout of this ensemble cast. There is no question why she will soon be getting her own sitcom next year on IFC.
