Yvan Attal's new film depicts three buddies, two married, one single, and their various relationships. Vincent (Attal) and Georges (Alain Chabat) are the married ones, each with a five-year-old child. Both men are beginning to chafe at the "bonds" they imagine to be constraining their lives. It doesn't make things any easier that the other member of the triumvirate, Fred (Alain Cohen), is a bachelor with an endless row of women lined up to share his bed. Ironically, while envied by his pals, Fred ultimately desires what they have: a committed relationship with one partner.

It is subsequently revealed that Vincent is seeing another woman and keeping the affair a secret from his friends and from his wife, Gabrielle (Charlotte Gainsbourg). But Gabrielle, unbeknownst to Vincent, is already aware of her husband's affair and is just hoping that things will all work out - until, that is, she encounters an attractive stranger in the aisles of a music store.

In a last ditch effort to remain in power, he signs a controversial bill, SB60, allowing undocumented immigrants to obtain driver's licenses. Meanwhile, an extra-terrestrial scout is arrested for driving without a license in his preparation to attack Sacramento. Instead of foiling the plot, the arrest inadvertently allows the aliens to become a driving force behind the gubernatorial recall campaign. But when the new governor's allegiance is questioned, the jailed alien scout must begin grooming his truly loyal cell-mate for their next phase of attack... Written by Jason Long

In this provocative and gritty  ensemble piece we explore the destroyed  worlds of four lovers. The film starts in a tacky  Vegas chapel with Steven, Bill, Kerry and  Katie thinking about their failed relationships.  They each reflect on their recent past and  how each came to be married in the chapel.  Their four marriages came about during  fragile moments of desperation and need. As  we reflect back on the four gut wrenching  stories of love, violence, laughter and  heartache we are eventually brought to the  present day and the reality that each well  painted story is still unresolved.  Steven is the "wannabe" rocker. Bill is the  fragile X marine. Kerry is the struggling  mother with a handicapped son. Katie is the  hippie drifter nomading around the country.  The final resolution will leave them facing the  cold fact that love can be harsh and life  marches forward irrespective of their broken  lives. These four enticing stories leave us  moved by the stark emotions of their Indigo  Hearts.  Written by Tom Duncan
