A prize-winner on the international festival circuit, "Fratricide" is an elegantly shot, gripping drama of young Kurds and Turks relocated to Germany where they hope to escape the tribal violence and poverty of their homeland. Instead, they find themselves strangers in a strange land: inhabitants of a soulless society where prostitution, street violence and prejudice offer no respite from the past. The friendship that evolves between one young man and the youngster he attempts to mentor suggests that love and loyalty are one's best hope against bitterness and rage. But the harsh reality of refugee life in Western Europe that "Fratricide" unflinchingly portrays subverts even their best instincts.

Aus der Ferne is a personal travelogue, a documentary about a trip through Turkey. Thomas Arslan, who filmed the journey himself, undertook the trip in May/June 2005. The route takes him through Istanbul and Ankara to Gaziantep in the southeastern part of the country, from there further eastwards via Diyarbakir and Van to Dogubayazit near the Iranian border. The film describes moments during the journey that differ from the usual motifs that inform the image of present-day Turkey – from impressions of day-to-day life in such Western cities as Istanbul and Ankara all the way to regions in the country’s easternmost territory that were locked in battle until recently.

"Hurricane on the Bayou" takes viewers on a breathtaking tour of one of the most vibrant places in America, the Louisiana bayou and the city of New Orleans, a place overflowing with life, music and natural beauty. Here, in the region's bountiful coastal wetlands, alligators, humans and other wildlife have lived in harmony for centuries. Tragically, these wetlands are eroding into the sea at the speed of one acre every thirty minutes, leaving the entire region more vulnerable to major hurricanes. "Hurricane on the Bayou" offers an emotional portrayal of this environmental calamity and the staggering effects of one of the most devastating natural disasters in American history, Hurricane Katrina.
