Deep in the heart of football country, Skylar Eckerman (Sipos) is a star. As quarterback of his high school football team, he's got the skills, the looks, and the girls. But he loses it all in one misstep, injuring his knee, his future and his status as a local star.

Although not quite the hero compared to his next-door neighbor, Walter Pearce (Liotta) seems to be a loving husband, good father and all-round decent family man. He too loses it all when his office love affair crumbles his world and his wife Deborah (Headly) kicks him out of the house. Even worse, Walter's infidelity has taken place on the eve of his own anniversary and just prior to his other daughter, Chloe's (Blanchard) wedding. ("Good timing, Dad!")

Both men behave badly and find themselves at the local jail. As it turns out, Skylar is Walter's neighbor and not Walter's favorite person. A year earlier Skylar broke Walter's daughter, Christine's heart and she took off to pursue an altruistic tree planting lifestyle. With the prospect of spending several weeks in jail, Walter and Skylar form an unlikely bond to help each other out. Walter moves in right next door at Skylar's house. The lines are drawn when Walter enlists Skylar's questionable help in getting Deborah back. Skylar meanwhile has his own epiphany and realizes he can't live without football and Christine and will do anything to get back in the game.

Deborah, Walter's wife, takes up yoga and tries to rebuild her life after sticking pretty much to the "zero tolerance" rule. Christine returns from the woods to help protectively circle their mother with sister Chloe.

The Pearce women make it clear that second chances are earned... and not that easily.

Committing Poetry in Times of War

        • 114 min
        • Documentary

Committing Poetry is a poetic glance at events that defined the struggle of a nation at war abroad, and with its people. When the bombs began to fall on Iraq, Humanities Teacher and Youth Poetry Coach, Bill Nevins, was suspended and later, fired from his teaching job after standing up for student freedom of expression. His outspoken Rio Rancho High School Poetry Slam Team was forcibly disbanded and silenced. Nevins was the last of seven New Mexico educators removed by fearful administrators seeking to quell the questions, thoughts, debates, and artwork of students. Committing Poetry in Times of War, based on a story developed by Stavros and Eric Sirotkin, documents many dynamic slam poetry and musical performances with select performances from Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and New York City Poetic Justice concerts. On screen performances by Adan Baca, Socorro Romo, Demetria Martinez, Tony Santiago, Erin Ambrose, Jazz, The Ruffians, Carlos Contreras, Priscilla Baca y Candelaria, Manuel Gonzales, Danny Solis, Kenn Rodriguez, and student members of the disbanded Rio Rancho Ram Slam Poetry Team, offer an inspiring account of how America's artistic community responded to threats to our civil liberties.

If it weren't for a series of cataclysmic events; a comet impact being first on the list, our planet could well still be the domain of dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs fascinate us so much, that many people wish they were amongst us. Fortunately, the large format "Dinosaurs 3D" will be the closest thing to actually being in the presence of the extraordinary creatures without looking into our own extinction at the same time.

Following Pr Rodolfo Coria, a world-reknown Argentinian paleontologist, we visit sites of major discoveries he has contributed to in Patagonia and travel back in time to see these amazing beasts come to life. Patagonia has given us the largest living animal to have ever walked the Earth: the titanesque plant-eating Argentinosaur, and its nemesis, the Giganotosaur, a bipedal carnivore, that could easily challenge the famous T-Rex.

Deeply rooted in science, the film carries the audience through the lives of two specimens of these superb achievements of evolution. The action is intense and the landscape is out of this world. At times, the camera takes us into space to witness the movement of the tectonic plates or the arrival of a comet that will seal the fate of the Dinosaurs.

As the movie leaves our Patagonian giants behind to jump forward to the end of this extreme chapter of Earth's history, we learn through science that although most species of their evolutionary branch have disappeared, the Dinosaurs are still with us today. You can see them easily. They sometimes perch on wires in your back yard. You've even probably eaten quite a few of them. They are birds.
