In the Shadow of the Moon is an intimate epic, which vividly communicates the daring and the danger, the pride and the passion, of this extraordinary era in American history. Between 1968 and 1972, the world watched in awe each time an American spacecraft voyaged to the Moon. Only 12 American men walked upon its surface and they remain the only human beings to have stood on another world. Now for the first, and very possibly the last, time, In the Shadow of the Moon combines archival material from the original NASA film footage, much of it never before seen, with interviews with the surviving astronauts, including Jim Lovell (Apollo 8 and 13), Dave Scott (Apollo 9 and 15), John Young (Apollo 10 and 16), Gene Cernan (Apollo 10 and 17), Mike Collins (Apollo 11), Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11), Alan Bean (Apollo 12), Edgar Mitchell (Apollo 14), Charlie Duke (Apollo 16) and Harrison Schmitt (Apollo 17). The astronauts emerge as eloquent, witty, emotional and very human.

Fifty years ago, Little Rock Central High School became a symbol of the struggles and hopes of the Civil Rights Movement. Today, it is a stark reminder of the complicated road to equality. This HBO Documentary Films production takes an eye-opening look at the landmark high school, which is now essentially two separate schools, in which white students matriculate to some of the most prestigious colleges in the country, while many black students cannot pass basic reading requirements. The film follows present-day students and with community leaders, as well as one of the original "Little Rock Nine," who reflects on how much--and how little--has changed since she courageously crossed the school's steps during the infamous "Integration Crisis of 1957," when nine African-American students were prevented from entering the building by an angry mob of whites.

Rick narrates his own life story. From existing on camera footage Rick literally appears in the film, providing his uncensored opinions and commentary. Quotes from magazine and newspaper interviews are his narrative voice. So when Supermodel, Janice Dickinson, claims to be the inspiration for "Superfreak," we'll give you Rick's take on what really happened that night at Studio 54. "Cocaine is a hell of a drug!" This is an autobiographical chronicle from the grave. Written by Downtown Movies
