The original movie saw Steve Guttenberg star as Colton West, a 90s action movie star who is on the waning end of his career and in trouble with the law when volcanoes erupt in the Santa Monica mountains. The eruption sends an avalanche of fire-breathing, lava-spewing arachnids who wreak havoc on the city of Angels and some of its most historic landmarks. Ilavantulan the movie, Guttenberg reteamed with his Police Academy castmates Leslie Easterbrook, Marion Ramsey, and Michael Winslow, along with Nia Peeples (Pretty Little Liars), Ralph Garmin (Sharktopus), Patrick Renna (The Sandlot), among others. I hear the intention is to bring back the cast, with talent conversations just starting. Syfy is rerunning the original movie on Wednesday.
