A soldier in the war to overturn apartheid, Vusi (Ice Cube) grew up fast, smart and tough in a country torn apart by racial strife. After living for over a decade in America pursuing his career as a drug counselor, he returns to his village to bury his father and learns that his brother is missing.
Vusi sets out to find him, but at first only encounters his brother's girlfriend, a stripper named Karin (Elizabeth Hurley). Vusi and Karin explore the underworld of South Africa as it has never been seen before, searching for his brother. Together they discover the mean streets of Johannesburg are no different from the violence plagued communities Vusi left behind in the United States.
