When Stanley Stupid (TOM ARNOLD) and his spirited wife Joan (JESSICA LUNDY) wake up to find their garbage stolen right out of the can -- again -- Stanley vows not to take it anymore! Is nothing sacred?
But oh what a tangled web we weave when we are a Stupid. In his effort to get to the bottom of this heinous crime, Stanley lays a cunning trap to lure back the thieves. As expected, they take the bait, and he follows their getaway truck to the dump where he inadvertently stumbles on a covert weapons deal led by a couple of military men gone bad.
Completely oblivious to what the Colonel and his sidekick are up to, Stanley believes there is a more sinister element at work here -- that a diabolical figure from his past is behind the theft of all that fine garbage people have worked so hard to create.
Years before, when Stanley was a courier for the U.S. government -- that's right, Stanley Stupid was a mailman -- he uncovered a fiendish plot. Someone named Sender (as in "Return to Sender") was pilfering other people's mail -- in huge quantities!
Ever the conscientious type, Stanley felt this merited a full-scale investigation and reported the phenomenon to his supervisor. The next day he was fired. Obviously Stanley Stupid knew too much for his own good.
Stanley is convinced that Sender is back. But this time, he's hatched an even more devious plot than stealing mail -- now he's at the root of a conspiracy to steal an entire nation's garbage!
Stupids rush in where angels fear to tread. When Stanley, Joan, and their children Buster (BUG HALL) and Petunia (ALEX McKENNA) set-out to track down Mr. Sender, they unravel an even greater conspiracy involving aliens, the food service industry, international terrorists, a local newspaper, the police and, of course, the post office.
Will the Stupids survive the wrath of the corrupt military men? Will they escape the clutches of the international terrorists? Will they bring the evil Sender (CHRISTOPHER LEE) to justice? Will they believe that the kindly Mr. Sender (BOB KEESHAN) is not involved in this horrendous scheme?
No one but The Stupids could have gotten into this mess, and no one but The Stupids could get out of it.
