A wildcat oilman finds himself in the town of Henrietta, Texas - during the depression. He convinces a local cotton farmer to risk everything on the chance that there is oil on his land.
The dream of oil riches nearly tears the family apart -- but along the way, the cotton farmer's family and the oilman each discover what is truly important to themselves -- and they learn that hope is not an emotion reserved only for the young.
