According to The Hollywood Reporter, with no blockbuster theatrical hit arriving in video stores last week, it was a triple-play win for Buena Vista Home Entertainment's National Treasure for the week ending May 15. The film remained at No. 1 on both VideoScan's First Alert sales chart and Home Media Retailing's rental chart, where it generated an additional $8.37 million to bring its total rental take to nearly $20 million.

Treasure also took command of the national DVD sales chart for the week ending May 7 but failed to oust Paramount Home Entertainment's Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events from the top spot on the VHS chart, where it reigned for the second straight week.
