All three NCIS shows are coming together. Per Collider, it has been revealed that a three-way crossover event is coming to CBS in January. The three-hour, one-night event will focus on one murder mystery featuring characters from NCIS, NCIS: Hawai'i, and NCIS: Los Angeles. This will be the first time three different shows in the NCIS universe came together in such a big way.

CBS executive VP of current programming Amy Reisenbach has teased the event as the "long-awaited, first-ever NCISverse crossover," adding that the franchise's creative teams "came up with a thrilling story for this epic three-hour event that creatively brings all three NCIS teams together for fans to enjoy in one night and beyond." She also added that the "popularity, longevity, and continued success of the franchise is a testament to the immense talent of the casts and writing and producing teams who bring these shows to life.”

It all goes down on Jan. 2, 2023, to kick off the new year in a special way. The crossover begins with a new episode of NCIS called "Too Many Cooks," airing at 8 p.m., which will see characters from all three shows coming together in DC to celebrate the retirement of a professor who'd taught many of them what they know. Things take a turn when the professor winds up dead, and at first, it seems to be the result of a suicide. Our NCIS agents know better and surmise that there's something more sinister that must be going on, beginning an investigation involving all of our favorites.

The second chapter of the crossover will be the NCIS: Hawai'i episode "Deep Fake" at 9 p.m. That will see the agents teaming up to launc their investigation which will include "high personal stakes for each character." In the third and final chapter of the event, the NCIS: Los Angeles episode "A Long Time Coming" at 10 p.m., a natural twist will be uncovered where the agents learn that they have a high-dollar bounty that's been placed on them.

The NCIS franchise was launched with the original show, a JAG spinoff, in 2003. The show is still going strong, having since spawned multiple spinoffs. One spinoff has already come and gone with NCIS: New Orleans airing for seven seasons from 2014 to 2021. Meanwhile, NCIS: Los Angeles has been on the air since 2009 while NCIS: Hawai'i launched to success last year. There will be more to come from this universe as well as it was announced earlier this year that the Australian spinoff NCIS: Sydney, marking the first installment of the franchise to go outside of the United States, is in development at Paramount+.
