Neil Patrick Harris Set for ‘The Smurfs’

Neil Patrick Harris cast in The Smurfs Director Raja Gosnell has apparently found his live-action lead for his upcoming remake. Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) has been cast in The Smurfs.

While Harris' exact character wasn't revealed, it was said that he would play the main live-action character in the film, which will be a CGI/live-action hybrid film.

Filming was said to start in April and the film has been slated for release on July 29, 2011. We'll be sure to keep you posted with any other updates regarding The Smurfs as soon as we have more information.

The Smurfs was released July 29th, 2011.

            I think he's too young to play Gargamel, so unless they age him, he's probably going to play some role made up for the movies.

                    Nice! Although, Jason Lee and David Cross couldn't make the Chipmunks movies good, so who knows how this will turn out.
