Relativity Media has brought on James McTeigue to direct their gangster drama Ness/Capone. We first reported on this project back in April when Relativity acquired the project.
Grant Pierce Myers wrote the screenplay, which landed on the 2010 Black List, and puts a fresh twist on the war between law enforcer Elliot Ness and Chicago gangster Al Capone in the 1920s. This story portrays Ness as an attention-seeking womanizer who took great joy in taking down the mobster. The story was popularized in the 1987 classic The Untouchables, although this version of Elliot Ness will be vastly different than Kevin Costner's clean-cut take.
Hollywood Gang's Gianni Nunnari is producing Ness/Capone alongside Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, Jason Felts, and Rene M. Rigal.
It isn't known when production will start on Ness/Capone yet.
