While some shows are getting ready to go on their holiday hiatus, others are getting ready for their midseason debut, such as the hit Fox comedy series New Girl. After premiering during the fall for its first four seasons, the series shifted to a midseason arrival for Season 5, starting with the season premiere No Girl on Tuesday, January 5 in its new time at 8 PM ET. For fans who have endured an entire fall without their beloved series, Fox has debuted the first trailer, which includes our first look at two new guest stars, Megan Fox and Fred Armisen.

We reported in September that Megan Fox is stepping in as the new roommate, when Jess (Zooey Deschanel) is forced to leave due to jury duty. The casting move was made after Zooey Deschanel had a baby in real life, causing her to be absent from the show, leading to Megan Fox being cast. Her character Reagan will debut in the sixth episode, and is described as a straight-shooting pharmaceutical sales rep, who comes to town on business and rents out Jess' room, which shakes things up for Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Winston (Lamorne Morris).

As far as Fred Armisen's character is concerned, not much is known about him, but he is seen in the trailer dressing up as Jess. The trailer also features Winston helping Cece (Hannah Simone) pick out a wedding dress and Nick hugging Schmidt and Cece while they make out. Season 4 ended with Schmidt proposing to Cece, and this season will certainly deal with all of the ins and outs of planning a wedding. While it hasn't been confirmed when the wedding will take place, it will most likely happen on the season finale.

While they aren't shown in this trailer, other guest stars set for New Girl Season 5 include John Cho, Taran Killam, Henry Winkler, Julie Hagerty, Sam Richardson, Peter Gallagher, Nasim Pedrad and Rob Riggle. The show will also celebrate its 100th episode this season, so stay tuned for more on that. It hasn't been confirmed when the 100th episode will air, but this season will be a completely uninterrupted run of new episodes, with no breaks in between.

New Girl will kick off Fox's new Tuesday night comedy block on Tuesday nights, starting on January 5. Grandfathered will follow in a new time at 8:30 PM, with Brooklyn Nine-Nine moving from Sunday nights to Tuesday's at 9 PM and The Grinder, shifting to 9:30 PM ET. New Girl was created by Elizabeth Meriwether, who executive produces with Brett Baer, Dave Finkel, Jake Kasdan, Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope. Take a look at the new footage from New Girl before Season 5 debuts next month on Fox.
