Accoridng to Variety, New Line Cinema has bought comedy pitch Perfect Pet from scribe Eric Wald and producer Laura Hopper.

It's the story of a divorced genetic engineer who designs the "perfect pet" to impress his kids, but finds his creation soon goes awry.
