Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children looked really shit! i tried watching it a few times and only got to the point where there is a wee girl crying or something. (which is aboot 5 minutes in)

yeah it looks stunning, but i had hoped it was more like "Spirits Within"... i think the whole japanese character thing doesn't work for me. ... and no, i'm not racist, but i do only like white people who can speak english.... and not too tanned either.

LOL. I guess your right Vampire2000, because there is no point arguing with anyone who thinks that Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children was a good movie.

They're still making the next live action movie Cnote. This has got no baring on the movie series at all. Whether this'll top the movies, we'll have to wait and see. Personally, I can't wait for this to come out, even though it's DVD only.

Darko nip off. They're all awesome.

Like you said Moviebuff, Beowolf was a good one, 300 seemed to focus alot on CGI as well and that was good. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is another good one as well.

At least we won't to sit thru lousy acting in this one.

i was skeptical but the trailer is decent.
its been a good day for teaser trailers here.

anyway in my opinion the r.e. series is kinda silly, so perhaps the story style would play better in cgi.

I would have to say its goin CGI because they arent making enough money off these movies to keep using huge set and action sequences with real people.

Turok... you answering my question? That's not what I meant. If you wanna talk about CGI used as cartoon movies... there's the Shrek trilogy. THAT is HUGE. What I mean is serious CGI movies like Beowulf.

Thrilling....NOT!

How about Toy Story, the first film AND it's sequel were huge. Just don't have any exact figures, I just remember the hype at the time.

July 17th, 2008 10:21am
Its a new direction Turok.

Guess you didn't understand me Vamp. I said the stories are good. And I know where many of you are coming from... the CGI DOES look good. Hell, I even enjoyed Beowulf. What I'm trying to say is that the more movies they make like this, the more producers may realize it could be cheaper than hiring REAL actors. Then we'll be getting more of these movies than ones with REAL people in it.

NO doubt CGI allows many scenes to be filmed that probably couldn't be otherwise... but entire movies without REAL actors? Honestly... unless I'm wrong.. I can't think of any movie shot entirely with CGI (without real actors in it) that made that much money. Can anyone name one or two to make me feel absent minded?
