While I know this is a game of some sort, it looks kind of cool, I've never played the game. So my opinion when I see this movie will largely be based upon the movie, and not it's relation to the game.

Why would it remind you of A Man Apart? It's closer to Sin City and The Punisher than anything. A Man Apart is nothing like Max Payne.

Movies that are based on games suck. I was disappointed with Mortal Kombat 1 and 2. But Hitman was pretty good.
