Rogue Pictures Set for The Strangers Sequel

Source:  Variety
Rogue Pictures is already preparing the sequel to its summer hit, The Strangers, and has set Bryan Bertino to return to write the script.

According to Variety, Bertino wrote the original and made his directing debut on the film; it's yet to be determined whether he'll direct the sequel.

The expectation is that Liv Tyler, along with several of the original villains, will return.

Production is being slated for early 2009.

the strangers a sequel hmmm sounds like this is going to be good as long as you have the orginal director of the movie. i think that would be a great movie to see. one of the better horror movies that came out. i am also excited to see the unrated version of the strangers

well then if this a re-make of "Them", i might give it a miss. "Them" was a brilliant peice of film-making. filled with suspence and the fact you didn't see who the intruders were for 90% of the movie had you totally fucked. it also had one of thee best endings i have have ever seen, like a "FUCK ME!!... i didn't see that coming" type of thing.

This could work, but I'm not sure how Liv fits into the story. Its funny how they market the movie by saying, "Based on true events" when we all know its more than likely not. Yes, it probably did happen, but not the way the film portrays it to be.

How silly..a sequel!! The 1st one wasn't even that scary! More plot holes thatn anything else!

I also didn't think "The Strangers" did that well in theaters!

If this is based on a true story, why does it have to have a sequel. The first horror/suspense movie I had seen that was worth my money. I was scared to be honest. It was a good movie.

Still need to see the first one, i hope its not an origin film for the killers, isnt not knowing anything about them what made them "Strangers"

August 28th, 2008 8:32am
meh the 1st was good, i agree it missed on a few things but a sequel is highly unnecessary. i dont feel the need to know the origins of the killers. just stupid. was one of the scariest seat-jumper movies i had seen in a theater tho

I hope it is better than the first. The first was alright but was lacking alot.

August 28th, 2008 6:12am
yeah i liked 'the strangers' but it was lacking in any kind of substance or real story.
it had a flimsy backstory used to get these people into this house in the middle of no where and then on with the show.

but if its handled correctly the sequal could make up for all of that.

Oh yeah nevermind.

Might be cool considering how it's handled.
