Mekhi Phifer and Jennifer Beals Return to Lie to Me

Source:  The Hollywood Reporter
Two guest stars are returning to Fox's Lie to Me for expanded duties next season: Mekhi Phifer, who appeared in the last two episodes of the crime drama's freshman season, will return as a series regular. Jennifer Beals, who also guest-starred in two episodes, including the season finale, will recur, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Phifer will be reprising his role as FBI agent Reynolds, who was brought in to liaise between the Lightman Group and the FBI when the lie-detection specialists are called in to help solve cases that can't be cracked through traditional investigative tactics.

Beals will continue as Assistant U.S. Attorney Zoe Landau, Cal Lightman's (Tim Roth) ex-wife and mother of their teenage daughter.

The 20th/Imagine-produced Lie to Me is set to kick off its sophomore season Sept. 28 with Shawn Ryan as the new showrunner.

Never saw Phifer, but I did enjoy his leaving ER. I absolutely loved Jennifer'c character and her interaction and banter with Roth's character. It is more realistic to see an interesting man attract an interesting and very attractive woman. I would love to see more of what brought them together as well as what tore them apart.
