According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nickelodeon Movies/Paramount are in negotiations to acquire the rights to the graphic novel "Fire Breather." The comic book writers are Phil Hester and Andy Kuhn. The rights would include an executive producer credit for Adrian Loudermilk through Venture Management.

In a separate development, Paramount has acquired the spec script Trudain Rising for Happy Madison and Lorenzo di Bonaventura to produce. The project was written by Scott Sandler as well as Kane Ng and Dan Hannon.

Published by Image Comics, this story centers on a high school teen, Duncan Rosenblatt, who's half human and half dragon and is constantly at odds with his divorced parents -- a sweet-natured soccer mom and his father, a 300-foot-tall monster.
