Night at the Museum 3 is currently casting for a December 2014 release date. The Ben Stiller franchise is quite a lucrative one for 20th Century Fox, so don't look for this latest sequel to be bringing an end to the saga anytime soon.

Night at the Museum will probably not end as a trilogy.

Writer Robert Ben Garant, who created the franchise with his partner Thomas Lennon, recently spoke about the continuing adventures of Larry the Security Guard who usually works in various museums where everything inside comes to life after hours. He didn't confirm or deny that a fourth chapter is on the way. But it sounds pretty likely.

"Spoiler alert, we can't really say but they made Jurassic Park 4, they made Terminator 4. We'll see what happens."

He also offered a bit of insight into the now in production Night at the Museum 3.

"They've got Lancelot already. They haven't started shooting but there's a script. I'm sure it'll be tweaked as the cast forms but it comes out next Christmas so they've got to already be building sets."

Newcomer Dan Stevens is playing Lancelot. Rebel Wilson also joined the cast just this past week. Along with flagship cast mate Ben Stiller, other returning faces include Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan.
