Ninth ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ Production Video with Peter Jackson

We haven't seen one of director Peter Jackson's production blogs from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey since July, when he shared his Comic-Con experience with the fans. Today, the filmmaker has unleashed the ninth video blog that explores the post-production process. The director takes us inside the Park Road Post Production facility in Wellington, New Zealand, revealing that there is still a lot of work left to be done. This Middle Earth adventure is due to be completed just two days before the world premiere. Take a look at the tireless crew members who are working around the clock to finish the movie in this fascinating 14-minute behind-the-scenes video.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released December 14th, 2012.

So awesome to see how many people it actually takes to create a film. Me being a fanboy of films it is extremely awesome to see

@narrator I definatly notice the differences with those creatures and the over all aesthetic is looking fantastic. I just cant wait to see Martin Freeman as Bilbo. The guy is such a n under rated actor and I am very happy to see him get something major like this.

These blogs are always a treasure. Peter Jackson is offering us a unique look at the entire film process with a complimentary sprinkling of humor and heart... for free. While those of us who watched the LotR special features might not see too much that's particularly new, this type of stuff is lacking from 90% of dvds and blu-ray out today, and he's taken time to draft a film crew that is solely dedicated to chronicling the celluloid journey for us fans before the process is even finished! Totally love the guy and can't wait for the film.

Have you noticed the slightly different designs with the wargs and goblins, @skywise? That's in part due to Del Toro's hand in creature designs before he had to leave the project. Very interested to see them on the big screen, to say the least.
